Betty Jane Hegerat is a prolific writer.

This is the second time we have featured her in the Getting 2 Know U section, and you may have enjoyed her previous answers.

This time Betty Jane is promoting her new novel, The Boy, a gripping story–part fiction, part nonfiction–about the brutal 1959 slaying of Ray and Daisy Cook and their five children, which occurred in Stettler, Alberta.

Robert Raymond Cook, Ray Cook’s son from his first marriage, was convicted of the crime, and had the infamy of becoming the last man hanged in Alberta.
