Welcome to BookClubBuddy.com, where readers and authors connect. We’re glad you found us!  As you’ll soon notice, we’re different from other book club sites.

This is an author run site, and we want to do all we can to foster a connection between readers and authors. We want to help you and your book club find books you may not have considered or even heard of before now. If you’re a reader, you will find an eclectic selection of books, personal interviews with authors, video clips, book trailers, audio interviews, and book news—everything you need to help you decide which books are best for you and your book club.

In addition, every time an author posts a featured listing on our site, you will have a chance to receive a signed copy of the book.  Occasionally, we also give away Amazon gift certificates. Gift certificates are sent via email and any book won is sent, postage paid, as the author’s gift to one of our readers. All winners are drawn randomly from our email list. As long as you respond to the email by answering a question about the featured book, you’re eligible for the draw. If you’re lucky, you may even win more than once!

Author Chat

Have you ever read a good book and wished you could discuss it with the author? If so, you’re in luck.  Many of our authors are willing to talk to book clubs—by telephone, email, instant messaging, or Skype—should you choose to discuss his or her book. You and your friends may elect to have this discussion with the author by arrangement.

Just contact us with your request, and we’ll put you in touch with the author. Like anyone else, the author’s time is valuable, so there may be a small fee, so be sure to ask the author about that once you make contact. It’s also good form to buy signed  gift copies of the book from the author–if you plan to do that, please suggest the number of copies the author should bring with him or her. Your group could have an interesting evening with the author of a favourite book for less than it would cost each of you to buy a movie ticket and a box of popcorn.

Policy on Self-published  or Independently Published Authors

This site lists predominately literary fiction. However, these days, many gifted writers are choosing to self publish and need a way to reach readers. The disadvantage for readers is that self-published books have not gone through the traditional screening and editing process with publishing professionals, so readers can’t always be certain that books purchased will be well written and engaging.

Nevertheless, many self-published books deserve a large audience. To assist those authors and still serve our readers, our policy is to allow Indie listings on the site, under a category clearly listed as INDIE. Indie authors provide excerpts from their books, so readers can judge quality for themselves. Your feedback on the author’s page will act as a valuable guide for others looking for an enjoyable read.

In this way, you can provide other readers with a sense of your experience. Please be honest, but respectful. Rude or unkind comments will be removed.
