About Confessions of a Tea Leaf Reader:

Confessions of a Tea Leaf Reader by Tanya LesterWhy should readers be interested in Confessions of a Tea Leaf Reader?

It will help the reader understand or understand better the art of tea leaf reading and why someone would have a passion for it. I invite readers into my unusual lifestyle, as the book is written in a conversational style. Readers might even imagine that they are enjoying my story telling while they sit with me drinking loose leaf tea (maybe cherry rose green tea)before entering the magical realm of receiving a tea leaf reading.

How have readers reacted to your book so far?

Recently a family–married couple and their six-year-old son– came for a reading from me at a funky metaphysical shop on Vancouver Island (the ‘big island’ as we call it on Salt Spring Island where I live). The man wanted to know if Andrew (not his real name)is still ‘driving me crazy’. He also wanted to find out if Goldie Hawn really did not pay me for the reading that I gave her son. It was like wanting an update for a reality show which happens to be my life.

Did you learn anything during the research and writing of this book?

I realized that Confessions of a Tea Leaf Reader is part of my life story; only one chapter in a quite extraordinary life. I have a lot more to write.

Can you suggest one question readers might find interesting to discuss, concerning you, your writing in general, or this book?

What are the similarities and links between being a tea leaf reader and being a writer?

How can readers help you promote this book?

Ask those in their network to contact me about the book or for a reading by going to www.tealeafreading-by-tanya.com or to Inner Circle Publishing to read a 20-page sample.
About the Author:

What is your greatest strength as a writer?

I like to write, as I live, in a unique way that inspires others and encourages them to think ‘outside the box’.

What quality do you most value in yourself?

I get the most I can get out of each day. I live life to the brim.

In addition to writing, what else are you passionate about?

I am passionate about tea leaf reading and almost anything connected to the spiritual realm.

What are you most proud of accomplishing so far in your life?

The best things I have done in my life have been to follow my bliss and make tea leaf reading my profession, as well as choosing to be a mother. Also, deciding to not be a perfectionist (workaholic) as a writer and in other things in life has freed me up and helped me really savour life.

Is there any new or established author whom you feel deserves more attention, and what is it that strikes you about his or her work?

Ellis Peters, the British author who wrote the Brother Cadfael murder mystery series. I really enjoy escaping into the world of a monk, who is a passionate herbalist, living in the English Middle Ages. Books like these inspire me to time travel. Ellis Peters is no doubt a psychic of the highest calibre.
